I grew up knowing I wanted to run a business - but not sure what form that would take. I studied accounting (& commercial law (okay and did a science degree in chemistry - what?!), but those skills have helped me develop an analytical mind which is great for business. I am however - hugely people centric so while analytics are great - I am pragmatically led by what is good for my people.I've learnt that I need good people around me (and I am hugely grateful to have that now), I get excited by people with ambition and drive and a tenacity to excel. I am a woman in a male dominated industry in the leadership space (and Ngai Tahu) and I've had to work for everything in life - so I am an avid supporter of people who are ready to step up and take their space. I've been in recruitment long enough to see a huge amount of change, both in the industry and in organisations struggling to access talent. I am passionate about good recruitment because of the difference we make in individual's lives and in the strength of organisations.An exceptional person can change your business, so our role is a crucial part of business success.The recruitment industry is littered with bad sales practises and agencies - I am fortunate to have been able to create an agency in Consult which is all about helping people and organisations shine.
