Graduate of the University of South Alabama’s Acute Care Adult-Gerontological Nurse Practitioners program. I have over 20 years experience in nursing, providing patient care in a very diverse and broad range of specialties. I have an impeccable education, numerous certifications from respected national organizations, and thousands of hours in various clinical settings.My decades of clinical experience and phenomenal training enables me to triage patients, conduct comprehensive H&P’s, compose diagnosis and treatment plans, and comprehensively care for patients needing ongoing specialized or emergency care.I have had the privilege of working along side some of the nations top physicians at nationally recognized institutions. Throughout my clinical residency and fellowship, I have performed hundreds of procedures such as intubations, central lines, chest tubes, fasciotomies, bronchoscopies, plastic surgery, and thousands of H&P’s.I have extensive experience working in collaborative, interdisciplinary teams varying from small community hospitals, Level I trauma centers, OR’s, mobile ICU’s, to jetICU. These experiences have taught me how to address patients, care givers, and other members of the health care team respectfully and diligently. I have spent a number of years in leadership roles in which I have precepted new hires, held the hands of a new grad nurse, guided the new medical resident through writing admission orders, to hugging the intern as they lost their first patient. What I cherish most about my career and what gets me through those mentally draining, long night shifts, are the relationships I build with my colleagues, patient’s, and their families, walking out of the hospital knowing I made a difference, having patient’s return to visit me just to say thank you, and the unbelievable amount of pride I feel when I am able to piece together and diagnose a complicated complaint a patient has sought care for.
