I knew from an early age that I was interested in exploring a career in wellness, finding my way to integrative health through the study of Osteopathic Medicine. Along the way, I discovered a passion for women’s health and an entrepreneurial streak that, once unleashed, couldn’t be put back in the bottle.An early-career internship at Advocate Lutheran General led to a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to create the hospital’s first-ever multi-disciplinary women’s health clinic within a large 700-bed hospital. After a few more hops and a six-year tour with industry-giant Proctor & Gamble, I founded my own women’s health practice which was so successful I was able to sell it, only to discover I missed it, so I started another equally successful practice which still feeds my soul to this day.As I continued to focus on integrative health and healing, I began studying the power of hormone replacement therapies to address a host of wellness imbalances in both men and women. As it turns out, hormone therapies have been scientifically proven to improve our overall quality of life, prevent chronic disease states, and reverse them too.Today I’m on a mission to educate as many patients and providers as possible about the transformative healing power of hormone therapy. To that end, I wrote the book “How Your Doctor is Slowing Killing You: A Woman’s Health Survival Guide”; launched the Dr. Hot Flash blog and YouTube channel; and became the Medical Director at Belmar Pharma Solutions, a national source for compounding medication, education, and consultation for anti-aging and integrative therapies. Most recently I founded Hormone Health Institute, a training platform for physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician’s assistants eager to learn more.In my free time, I enjoy running Kare for Me Foundation, the 501(c)(3) non-profit I founded to support no-kill animal shelters and clinical research. I’m also a bit of an explorer; I’ve been to 42 countries and counting.
