Our current special focus is on the qualities of Blue Zones and infusing elements of longevity and peace into life in all zones of play. Launched national COVID-19 testing program including hardware and software as medical devices with complete user experience journey roadmap and post-market surveillance. Co-authored multiple successful 510k and IDE submissions enabling COVID program launch, a first in-human neuromodulation device. Facilitated setup, startup, and provided on-going support for 3 clinical studies, two internationally.

San Francisco Bay Area

Lead formulation chemist for multiple integrated electronic biomedical devices, specializing in ocular products and biocompatible materials invention, integration, and strategy. Responsible for ideation, realization, and catalyzing R&D into pilot production scale. Developed thorough regulatory strategies for safety and biocompatibility of products with a focus on toxicology and microbial safety. Excellent collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams including electrical engineering, robotics, clinical, quality, regulatory, and user experience. Over 10 patent applications.

In collaboration with members of the board and committee chairs organized two virtual Surfaces in Biomaterials Foundation Workshops and Symposiums. Established online networking portal for community engagement through building a custom app to capture technical and social content.

Developed new drug delivery materials for specific target applications in the Langer Lab in collaboration with Dr. Giovanni Traverso. Fellow of the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation honored to work on technologies targeted towards combating malaria.

With Professor Geoffrey Coates, developed catalysts for the polymerization of renewable resources yielding novel sustainable polymers. Special focus on improving the synthesis of commercially relevant polymers such as poly(propylene fumarate), useful in both biomedical and industrial applications.

Applied radical polymerization to form hyperbranched polymers on silicon wafer surfaces and probed the effects of hydrophobicity on protein adsorption. Developed atomic force microscopy, ellipsometry and dynamic contact angle analysis skills.Discovered a new method of forming nanoparticle gradients in degradable hydrogels and studied their size and shape via transmission electron microscopy.
