Angela is a trusted diversity, equity, and inclusion consultant, social justice advocate and a respected lawyer. In 2020, she was recognized as one of the Top 100 Most Accomplished Black Canadian Women.As a former Member of the Legislative Assembly, Angela represented her community of Preston in the Nova Scotia legislature, has held the role of Deputy Speaker and has introduced private member’s bill’s including An Act to Dismantle Racism and Hate. In 2022, she brought a platform for those seeking new energy in the race for Leader of the Liberal Party of Nova Scotia. As a longstanding community activist, passion for diversity, equity and inclusion led Angela to consultancy where she’s spent the last ten years as a sought after speaker, educator and trainer. She has helped numerous organizations develop and implement progressive workplace initiatives, workshops and training on topics like antiracism, understanding bias and growing fair policies, practices and procedures. Throughout Angela’s career, she has built a reputation as a dynamic and collaborative leader with experience across the non-profit and private sectors and in government. She has a proven track record in building relationships, gaining trust and maintaining credibility in partnerships and in various work environments.
