Lead the national office of Easterseals, Inc., the nation's leading nonprofit provider of services for people with disabilities, including veterans, and their families. Through its national network of 67 Affiliates, Easterseals works to remove physical, cultural, attitudinal and legal obstacles so individuals with disabilities have every opportunity to live meaningful and productive lives, on their own terms. This is done through therapy and early intervention services, camps and employment placement, helping children and adults with disabilities, caregivers, veterans and seniors. Oversee the Y Movement's federated governance system, coordinating bi-annual national governance and educational meetings attended by 800 CEOs and chief volunteers officers. Co-developed board governance curriculum and trained 100s of local Y staff and board members and several international movement leaders. Staffed several board committees and task forces - Audit & Finance, Investment and National Board Development Committees, Jerusalem International Y Task Force, and National Committee on Membership Standards.Provide legal guidance and assure compliance with respect to governance functions of the boards of directors and staff of Y-USA, two corporations -- The National YMCA Fund, Inc. (not-for-profit endowment fund) and Y-Mutual Insurance Company, Ltd. (for-profit Bermuda-based insurance captive) -- and the Jerusalem International YMCA (wholly-owned Israeli non-profit subsidiary). Lead a legal team that conducts training nationally for the local YMCAs on the legal and ethical management of nonprofit organizations and provides advice and counsel on compliance with federal tax laws, Sarbanes-Oxley best practices, contracts, corporate sponsorships, litigation, employment matters and real estate. Successfully oversee a $130M construction project in Israel that was stalled for seven years prior to my arrival at Y-USA. Today the complex consisting of a 100,000 square foot sports and aquatics center, 900 space parking garage, commercial spaces and several hundred condominium units are nearly complete. While navigating in a complex political and social arena, secured over $5.5M on behalf of the Y through arbitration against one of the largest developers in Israel.

Liaison with President George H.W. Bush and President William J. Clinton on the administration of the $130M Fund, where 60,000 individual donors constituted 80% of the donations made from all 50 states. Coordinated grants, allocated for projects focused on health, housing, education, community and infrastructure needs. Responsible for understanding the overall impact of Hurricane Katrina on faith communities in Alabama, Louisiana and Mississippi. Condensed a two-month process into two weeks; developed a grant administration process to facilitate the distribution of $25M set aside for the rebuilding and renewal of houses of worship.

With revenues of approximately $2.6B, Home Services was the nation's largest product repair service provider. The Credit and Financial Products business reported revenues of over $380M. A direct report to the General Counsel, CEO and Audit Committee Chair. Provided regular updates to the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors on matters related to internal investigations, ethics violations and status of the compliance program. As a strategic business partner, assisted in the identification of applicable laws, regulations and other requirements to ensure that current business practices were in compliance with international, state and local directives. Designed and implemented company's new compliance program within first five months of employment. Coordinated risk management with Sears staff in China and Canada.
