I serve women and families of all kinds to build a legacy through oral history and archives.Individual and family stories show how national policies play out in real life; they point us to places where laws need to be made and cultural change must happen. Personal archives and oral histories may be the ONLY way information is documented, and for those stories we must take strong action.I’ve worked with clients with amazing stories that, if we hadn’t saved them, would be lost forever: stories of emigration, of labor and endurance, stories from historically excluded populations. My background in academic archives and women’s history, combined with my activism, are behind my ethos that “there is no them, only us.” When we tell our stories, we begin to see how connected we are. Further, sharing some time and reminiscences with friends and family renews our connections to each other and to the past. Go to www.AngelaLTodd.com for your guide on what to save... and what not to.Trained as an archivist, educator, and academic, I love capturing all possible historical contexts. I believe strongly that history can be healing, even if it's full of complex characters.Specialties: oral history; women's history; academic research, particularly biographical; public education; parenting in context; time in the NICU. Some database design, conservation and preservation, and disaster preparedness.
