During my six weeks with the foreign office of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation I assisted with story research, fact-checking, transcribing and shot-listing. Provided frequent updates to foreign correspondents Nahlah Ayed and Margaret Evans while they were in Ukraine, Russia, Turkey and South Africa. Scouted locations, chased interviews and produced a daily round-up of Canadian news and highlights from British newspapers and tabloids. Went out on location numerous times to assist video journalist Jeff Semple with his daily hits for CBC News Network as well as his coverage for The National and the radio news. Towards the end of my internship I traveled to Scotland and covered my own story on the Scottish referendum and the youth vote which was published online for CBC World and was also edited for radio.
