Currently working as a part-time consultant. DinnerTime is a robust website and service which integrates highly personalized and automated meal planning, shopping, and recipe support, as well as education and community engagement so everyone can meet their aspirations to eat better and save money. Through the use of our dynamic and proprietary algorithm, we can radically personalize meal plans to suit every household, including those with members on medically directed diets. As VP of Analytics and Population Health, my responsibilities span two areas. First, I lead a team that creates strategies and analytics to understand our members' needs better. By better understanding our current members' health concerns, dietary preferences, and other requirements, we can fine-tune our algorithm and recipes to fit the demands of our growing membership. In this arena, I manage a global team of dedicated employees that are responsible for entering all the necessary information for our algorithm to function. My second area of responsibility is advancing DinnerTime’s mission to improve access to healthy eating among vulnerable populations using technology and community programming, through private and public partnerships. We are currently working with several non-profit companies with the focus on nutrition and healthy eating in areas such as West Baltimore and Dorchester County. We are also partnering with for-profit businesses that provide information on Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits and delivering fruits and vegetables to homes, including homes located in food deserts.

Helped run the local campaign for President Barack Obama's 2012 re-election. Recruited and managed volunteers, canvassed, organized the database and calendar for the county. Made recruitment and persuasion calls.

Project manage the $15 million Gates Grant "Grand Challenges in Global Health: Design a recombinant attenuated Salmonella vector expressing antigens of Streptococcus pneumoniae to protect infants from pneumonia." Coordinate the research and communication among the eight research centers located in the US, Korea, and Australia. Line manage six technical staff and oversee the running of Professor Curtiss' laboratory containing approximately 40 research staff, technicians, and fellows. Teach classes in courses organized by Professor Curtiss. I am currently scheduled to teach classes in both MIC 394 (Milestones in Microbial Genetics and Phage Biology) and MIC 191 (Impact of Microbes on Life and Living. Used the murine model of ascending urinary tract infection to study various aspects of bacterial colonization of uropathogen Proteus mirabilis. Techniques involved: Basic molecular biology assay such as gene manipulation and PCR, as well as immunohistochemistry, confocal and scanning electron microscopy. Taught microbiology laboratory. My goal was to teach the skills needed to perform rudimentary microbiology to second year students. My duties included determining and preparing relevant teaching modules and demonstrating techniques as well as creating and administering quizzes and practical exams.

Set up a laboratory designed to determine the acid sensitivity of several aerobic and anaerobic bacteria. Investigated optimal growth environments and media for several bacteria. I tested the responses of bacteria to a variety of stimuli, including BufferGel, a spermicide/microbicide, which is currently undergoing Phase III clinical trials. I employed a variety of techniques to interrogate cervical cancer tumors for the presence of human papillomaviruses. These techniques involved extensive DNA preparation, PCR, dot blot hybridization, in situ hybridization, and restriction digestion fingerprinting of amplicons. Duties involved performing small animal surgery, neurophysiologic experimentation using probes to search for single cells within the guinea pig brain, neurohistology, and tissue staining, data analysis of electrocardiograms, vagus nerve output, diaphragmatic movement, and blood gas levels.
