I got to grips with all the channels in a personal capacity first, which gave me the freedom to make lots of mistakes, so my training comes from a deep well of practical experience. I now offer training courses in the UK, and focus on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram in particular. Training can be face-to-face or over the internet, with a shared-view desktop and webcams. There is a definite slant towards fashion in my current 'to do' list, but, having written about almost everything in my long career, I welcome new business from any sector. So do please get in touch. I started my company, Push Creativity, in 2007 with my partner, Ashley Taylor. Alongside my copywriting services, Ashley adds 3D graphics, website creation, photography and videography to the Push portfolio.

The Push Creativity team (myself and Ashley Taylor) has contributed significantly to Market Rasen's highly successful Portas Pilot project, and are committed members of MR BIG (the Market Rasen Business Improvement Group). As volunteers, we filmed and edited the winning Portas Pilot bid video in Spring 2012 (with huge support from other members of the MR BIG team), against a very tight deadline. Ours was one of only a handful of the 370 videos entered into the national competition that Mary Portas picked out for praise on her Twitter stream. I went on to volunteer as a director with the project for its first intensive year, at the coal face of the social media and PR throughout 2012. This included creating and posting around 3000 status updates for Facebook / Twitter and 500 Instagram photographs. I also managed and maintained the project's Wordpress blog, a site which has grown over the year to now encompass 10 pages and 50 blog posts, and was described by the Mary Portas team as an example of 'best practice'. In a recent article in The Telegraph, Mary Portas had this to say about the project: "Even before it won Portas Pilot status in May last year, I’d heard about Market Rasen, which had begun following the principles of my Portas Review before it gained the Government funding. A group of pioneering locals formed ‘Mr Big’ (Market Rasen Business Investment Group), which would become one of the country’s first Portas Town Teams, and used social media to spread the news about its new street market and community store."Alongside the social media, I also managed the public relations of the group, working with the local and regional press, radio and TV. Again this was with huge support from others in the group, who were perhaps not so camera shy as me!I am currently involved in delivering social media training for the project.

Putting my Psychology Degree to dubious use, I began work with this full service marketing agency as a fresh faced graduate in the early 90s. My flair for all things wordy saw me climb to the head of the PR department, where I worked on international business to business accounts, generating articles, press releases and newsletters, and managing press events.My biggest challenge? Producing 500 copies of a 25-page press pack in four weeks. The pack had to be in eight languages, with source copy arriving (in dribs and drabs) in several languages from five companies scattered across Europe. And I only speak English.
