I co-founded Ireland's first crime fiction festival NOIRELAND in 2017. In just 3 years it has developed and international reputation for the quality of its programming and creativity, and has become "one of the must-attend crime festivals of the year” - Denise Mina. I head a festival team of five people and manage over thirty volunteers who help deliver our highly successful festival. Over the four years since its inception I have been involved in all aspects of the festival, from programmingm to fundraising and running our communications campaigns. My passion for crime fiction, combined with my experience as a publicist and festival-goer has informed and helped shape NOIRELAND.

I am the Publicity Director for Flow Communications, a communications company specialising in crime fiction PR, author brand management, festivals and events. Since founding Flow I’ve worked with some of the UK's most popular authors including Anthony Horowitz, Ann Cleeves, M.J. Arlidge and Ian Rankin. I also launched thriller writer Tony Kent who has had widespread coverage on national TV, radio and newspapers and has become one of the rising stars of the UK thriller scene.Across my career my work has been recognised with awards and nominations: In 2017 Ian Rankin celebrated 30 years of his iconic fictional character John Rebus. I delivered a major 12-month PR campaign to celebrate the impact of Rankin and Rebus on crime fiction. It was awarded a PPC Annual award and nominated for Publicity Campaign of the Year in the 2018 British Book Awards. As the originator of the 'RebusFest' concept I was also recognised in the 'Marketing Campaign of the Year' alongside the talented team at Orion. Following the success of RebusFest I have expanded into festival PR and working with the UK's biggest creative writing event and NOIRELAND International Crime Fiction Festival, Irelan's biggest crime fiction festival.

I was responsible for coordinating promotional activities for crime fiction across the Orion Publishing Group. Increasing Orion's profile within the crime community, the media and the publishing industry through events, profile opportunities and working with digital and social media. I also focussed and coordinated internal communication and activities to help progress the publishing strategy for crime fiction across the Orion Publishing Group.I have been working with Gollancz (Orion's Science Fiction & Fantasy imprint) developing opportunities and commercial relationships to further their campaigns and activities in innovative and profitable ways. I have helped coordinate GollanczFest 2016, working with publishing and commercial partners to implement and deliver the award-winning festival.

- I create publicity campaigns for global brands as well as emerging writers, working across a broad range of subjects, and on many high profile and pressurised campaigns. Authors include Ian Rankin, Anthony Horowitz, Harlan Coben, Denise Mina and Neil Oliver.- I have special responsibility for crime fiction, liaising with the UK's key crime fiction festivals; I am a social media community manager for this area, and the publicist for The Murder Room digital project. - I manage paperback publicity activity by the fiction publicity assistant, liaise with freelance staff and PR agencies on key campaigns.- I am one of Orion’s Consumer Insight champions involved in progressing ideas and communicating Insight across the divisions. I was also part of a cross-divisional team involved in helping to envision Orion’s digital future.- I was appointed Ian Rankin’s publicist in 2012 and implemented a seven month campaign publicizing the return of Rebus in Standing in Another Man’s Grave. This was the most successful Rankin title to date, spending six weeks at #1.

I was promoted to Publicity Manager where I worked across a broad range of fiction and non fiction genres, on many high profile and pressurised campaigns. KEY CAMPAIGNS- David Millar: Promoted bestselling autobiography of the cyclist. - Hairy Bikers: Publicist for bestselling celebrity chefs for 3 years, working on 5 bestselling titles- Duncan Bannatyne: Publicist for bestselling autobiography and business titles - Eminem: Launched rap star’s illustrated memoir The Way I Am (2008) on an international stage- Pete Doherty: Publicist for headline-hitting The Books of Albion (2007)

Key campaigns included: - Catherine Deneuve's memoir CLOSE UP AND PERSONAL- Johnny Green's acclaimed book on the Tour de France PUSH YOURSELF JUST A LITTLE BIT MORE, shortlisted for the William Hill Sports Book of the Year award. - Cricketing commentator Simon Hughes' MORNING EVERYONE- Working with the marketing department on Orion's 'Read a Great Movie' promotion.

KEY CAMPAIGNS- Barry Cryer's bestselling PIGS CAN FLY, a collection of anecdotes from the national treasure's many years in showbiz- Cindy Chupack's Between Boyfriend's. Cindy was the Emmy award-winning writer and executive producer of Sex in the City - Sheila Kitzinger's THE NEW EXPERIENCE OF CHILDBIRTH

I joined Continuum as Marketing Assistant. 6 months after joining I was made responsible for the marketing and publicity of the newly launched trade list, progressing to Senior Publicity Executive. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDED- Publicist for key titles including by Tony Benn, Roger Scruton, Mike Philips and Baroness Shirley Williams.- Responsible for marketing of general and academic book divisions- Organised conferences and events for academic and general divisions.
