As a contract instructional designer working in the Canvas LMS, I consistently received requests to work on projects and was considered one of their top contractors. My duties included:Develop numerous instructional design projects for Instructure's Canvas clients at all levels of education (K-12, Higher Ed, Workforce), and at all levels of design (content restructuring, course design, Storyline projects, graphic design, video editing, and more). Evaluate online courses for quality and compliance. Provide technical support to online faculty in use of the LMS.

Catapult's portfolio of professional development products and services includes teacher and leader coaching, workshops and institutes, and special education programs. As a Professional Development Specialist my duties included:Effectively conduct staff development for teachers and leaders at schools, both virtually and onsite.Facilitate professional development presentations and engage in the coaching cycle, including modeling lessons and co-teaching, to improve the teaching quality for students in grades K-12.Follow Catapult Learning coaching framework design as instructed by supervisor.Encourages participation and open dialogue as part of an effective coaching relationship during presentations.Review Professional Development participant evaluations to drive continuous improvement.Analyze data to facilitate the development of best practices and determine instructional needs.

Texas Christian University (TCU) is a private research university in Fort Worth, Texas. TCU is classified as a Doctoral University: Higher Research Activity by the Carnegie Foundation. Working in the Koehler Center for Instruction, Innovation , and Engagement my work focused on responding to the present needs of instructors, as well as on keeping the TCU community informed of new educational possibilities created by the continuing development of pedagogical theories, teaching practices, and technologies. As an Instructional Designer and occasional Faculty Development Specialist, my duties included:Work with SMEs/Faculty to develop online courses from inception to completion. Apply ADDIE, Adult Learning Theory, Research-based pedagogy, UDL, principles of multi-media design, and other best practices to all design projects.Evaluate online courses for quality and compliance. Provide technical support to online faculty in use of the LMS. Administer LMS. Design, develop, facilitate and maintain training curriculum to prepare faculty to teach online. Create/edit tutorial videos as needed. HTML coding as needed.

ELLoquent Consulting is no longer in operation. At one time it was a source for online professional learning in English Language Learner (ELL) instruction for school districts in Region 11 (Texas). All sessions offered targeted the needs of ELLs served through English as a Second Language (ESL) programs at both the elementary and secondary levels. Sessions frequently addressed state and federal initiatives that promoted success for ELLs, while providing high-quality, scientifically research-based professional learning that built the capacity of teachers and administrators to meet the linguistic, affective, and academic needs of ELLs. While in operation the entity was State of Texas HUB Certified.

ESC Region 11 provides professional development, technical assistance, and management of educational programs to 77 public school districts and 52 charter campuses in a 10-county area in north central Texas. Job duties as a consultant included:Maintain knowledge of Education Code and Texas Administrative Code regarding instruction of ELLs in Texas schoolsConduct client needs analysis in order to develop, schedule, & deliver quality trainings, products and services in a variety of formats, reflecting scientifically based research, as well as national and state initiatives, to meet campus/district/charter school needsEnsure trainings, products and services met budgeting guidelines Provide technical assistance as well as observation & coaching to campuses/districts/charter schoolsInstructional design & facilitation of online courses and blended courses (use of Canvas LMS, Captivate, Power Point, Video & Audio editing, HTML code writing, etc.)Employ ADDIE model of instructional design and Adult Learning Theory in all training programsMaintain team web page, blog, social media presence and email marketing campaigns

As Lead ESL teacher, provide coaching and professional development to other ESL teachers on campus; As department head, ensure teacher lessons met curriculum guidelines & covered required standards; communicate information from central office to all teachers; Plan and design curriculum as well as curriculum based assessments; Worked on special district-wide project to Coordinate Vertical Alignment among all ELA teachers; Created Cross curricular writing program; Taught the following subjects: Theatre, Technical Theatre, ELA I, II, III, & IV, ESOL 1 & 2, Sheltered Instruction Sections, & Language Center.

Responsible for Admissions process and assuring the completeness of student files. Created MS Access Database for tracking required file documents and creating letters requesting missing data from students as well as reports for the registrar’s use during registration.
