As the technical founder, I planned and built all of Fijo's software & its web presence using React, Prisma (Node.js and TypeScript ORM), Vercel, Heroku (temporary backend), and MessageBird (for automated text messages to customers). I created our product roadmap and led our team in executing said roadmap. We piloted the product in multiple stores in Mexico and generated a 13% month-over-month increase in sales for them.Fijo is LatAm's first physical-store native intelligent customer data, engagement, and retention platform (B2B SaaS). It is a tool that incentivizes consumption through data-enriched relationships. In LatAm, direct relationships and experiences drive purchases. Though 94% of total retail sales in LatAm ($2.3B market) still happen in the physical-store, there is very little visibility on customer shopping behavior in-store and through direct seller-customer relationships (currently large % of sales happen through WhatsApp, SMS, calls).

While on the video engineering team, I built initial selection and discovery algorithm for Orchestrators, one of two key actors in Livepeer's distributed network of nodes (Golang). I maintained Livepeer’s REST API, adding endpoints, authentication, webhooks, admin functions (JS). To make Livepeer a self-serving live video transcoding platform, I added a secure sign-up/login flow, admin dashboard pages, and stream creation to livepeer.com.LivePeer is a decentralized platform for video encoding centered on the Ethereum network. It is a marketplace between encoding providers (the supply side) and app developers who need video-streaming services (the demand side). We raised an $8 million Series A venture round in 2019.

At BuzzFeed, I owned, rebuilt, and upgraded a legacy transcoding pipeline responsible for transcoding all BuzzFeed videos. I built and maintained python APIs that stored image, video, and other BuzzFeed multimedia assets. To the delight of BuzzFeed content creators, I built a service to auto-generate video/image thumbnails and gifs for production assets.Video Production at Buzzfeed works on tools, software and internal products to facilitate video production, packaging and distribution to millions of users (React/Redux front-end, Python, Django backend).

At Nimblestack, I built an email-parsing Facebook chatbot using React/Redux, NodeJSEdit, MongoDB. I was responsible for initial design, coding, testing, documentation and implementation & integrating five different APIs into chatbot (Gmail, Facebook, & other proprietary APIs).
