As a 12 Limitations Facilitator, I had the unique honor of teaching the methodology of the 12 limitations to a cohort of students, each with unique goals and initiatives. Throughout the beginning of the pandemic, I personally coached each student to help them navigate their goals through unprecedented times. It was a rewarding experience guiding individuals through challenges and supporting them in achieving their objectives despite the uncertainties of the pandemic.

While an Intern, I was the Project Coordinator for hosting a delegation from China to Orlando in September 2015, along with various events during the visit. Hosting the delegation was a beautiful cultural exchange experience that aligned perfectly with my background in International Studies.Other community initiatives I coordinated included the Family Homelessness Committee and the Orange County Domestic Violence & Child Abuse Commission. I also assisted Mr. Dick Batchelor in attending meetings, luncheons, and various events. Dick was someone I had met previously and asked to mentor me. When I realized I needed to learn more from him, I asked if I could join his company as an intern. And that’s how I came into this fabulous opportunity.

As the Chair of the PLC, I was the primary Student Ambassador to UCF President, John C. Hitt and the Office of Constituent Relations. I lead a council of 35 student leaders and facilitated mentoring programs to promote personal and professional development. As the Guest Services Supervisor, I served as the front lines of information at UCF, providing resources to anyone and everyone who visited the university. Because I had previously worked as an ambassador of UCF’s President’s Leadership Council, I was chock full of knowledge about the university and in a perfect position to provide exceptional customer service. This position gave me the opportunity to welcome guests on a daily basis to the university that I adore. I also supervised the student union and 24-hour study areas, and collaborated with a team to maintain stock and maintenance of the facilities. In our All Knight Study Spaces, I oversaw associate employees and all functional aspects, including the mitigation of any problems as they occurred.

At the UCF Student Union, I learned how to build community, as well as key organizational and administrative principles. I proudly led the creation of the UCF Bike Share program as the primary student coordinator, a legacy that lasts until this day. And I was hand selected among the Student Union employees to attend ACUI, a leadership conference for Student Unions in the Southeast region.Additionally, I processed payments, work orders, equipment reservations, scheduling, data entry, and other office support. I utilized the EMS data system to schedule reservations of tents, bicycles, banner spaces and other equipment, and facilitated meetings and discussions with various university professionals. All these community organizing skills have served me well ever since.

After learning different business development principles at UCF, my managers at Legends Sports Photography requested that I apply my newly learned knowledge to the business. I analyzed and developed the company brand image to enhance communication and attract new customers and employees. I transformed our old 2008 website by designing an updated site using Joomla site developer with HTML and creating brand new content. And I also assisted the Director and Accountant in scheduling, planning, research and communications.

As Partnership Development Director, I raised $30,000 in monetary and in-kind contributions from local, regional, and national businesses for the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. I did so by identifying leads, managing client relationships, and driving a multimedia marketing campaign. I created sponsorship packets for both large sponsors and small businesses. For each sponsorship, I generated unique partnership contract agreements. I also managed a fundraising team of 9 individuals and their associated projects.Overall, it was a unique experience. I was simultaneously serving on the President’s Leadership Council, working as a UCF Maintenance & Operations Assistant, and attending school full-time. I learned to be extremely mindful of how I managed my time and focused my energies. My work forced me to grow rapidly and teach myself an enormous amount of fundraising and partnership skills in a short period of time. In the end, it all paid off, as my achievement of $30,000 in donations surpassed the previous year's fundraising efforts by over $10,000!

Up until senior year of college, I worked every summer at Legends Sports Photography, my family’s company. As a Photographer, I administered location photography of portraits and groups, and managed equipment and photo location setup. In my role as office support, I handled orders, payments, data entry, customer calls, and image processing.My experience gave me a solid understanding of owning and running a business, as well as communicating with people. Every demographic of the world is represented in New York, and I learned how to provide excellent customer service to a diverse range of people and in all sorts of situations.

This was the first position that has defined the rest of my life. Up until joining LEAD, I didn’t realize that I was a leader with the ability to empower others. Initially, I applied to a different position in LEAD. However, the professors immediately thought it was a no-brainer for me to be in the position of Leadership Development Director. They saw in me an innate ability to empower and articulate the potential of others. And they saw I had the emotional intelligence to understand what other students were going through and to help them move through their hardships in a positive way.As Development Director, I led a team of 15 student committee members, and I managed and executed all aspects of the Leadership Week Conference, including a $16,000 budget, speaker coordination, and marketing strategy. I also created, implemented, and presented leadership and professional development workshops throughout the year. All in my sophomore year.

Being entrepreneurially minded virtually since birth, I started a t-shirt company in high school when I discovered the need for club shirts. All of the school organizations wanted club shirts to express themselves as a community in a fun way. I saw the opportunity to mix my artistic and design skills with my knack for entrepreneurship. Fortunately, I also had a teacher and mentor in design work who supported me in bringing my ambition to life. That’s how I started my very first venture.
