As Graphic Designer for NRTC, with main focus on the souvenir industry, I was responsible for the creation of new designs for a great assortment of products, from concept to final production. In order for successful items, keeping up with trends in fashion, media and popular design was an asset. Presenting new design concepts to my employers was an important part of what I did. Communication is what pushed these designs from concepts to revision and from revision to final artwork. From there, communication is also what got these designs overseas to suppliers and back as final products and on clientele shelves. Along with souvenir design, I was also responsible for designing and creating (in house) headers for displays, signage and assorted labels for a large variety of packaging, keeping in compliance with international nutritional guide standards. Advertisements for magazine and website were also a few of the many tasks at hand. Keeping maintenance of printers, work station and the many computer files was vital for order completion and organization. Annually I also participated at the Canadian Gift and Tableware Association in the Toronto International Centre. This involved merchandising, having an eye for product placement, working with customers, taking notes for custom artwork and making sales.
