Library Assessment Lead
As the library assessment lead, I direct the development of a strategic assessment plan for a five year term. I coordinate efforts to ensure the library services are aligned with the University mission. I generate and analyze data necessary for national annual reporting. Initiatives developed included the educational Pet Helpline program, heartworm disease and prevention education campaigns, referrals to community resources, and behavioral training and assistance for owners who were considering surrendering their pets. Under my leadership, an all-volunteer staff of five coordinators and over 40 foster families and event staff rescued over 150 dogs from area shelters. ONCR received two competitive grants from the Association for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) and developed spay and neuter strategies for low income families and rural shelters in need. I managed digital and print marketing, event planning. After conducting a statewide assessment of shelters in need, I established a partnership with a rescue in Virginia to transport homeless Southern dogs to our partner rescue group in the North. This program, Northbound Dogs, began July 2017. I successfully transitioned the organization to a new leadership team in January 2018.
