As the founder of Deixis Press, I publish fiction with a dark edge, ranging from literary to genre fiction. I turn gorgeous ideas into prize-winning books, working with authors from manuscript to market. I also manage a yearly novel prize, which attracts hundreds of entries from diverse and talented writers.In addition to running my own press, I offer editing and literary consulting services to authors and publishers. I have over seven years of experience in proofreading, copy editing, critiquing, and advising on structure, storyline, character, plot, and dialogue. I have worked on a variety of titles, including maternity cover as for a crime and thriller commissioning editor at HarperCollins Publishers.I hold a BA in English Language and Literature from Hendrix College and an MA in English Studies (Electronic Communication) from University of Nottingham. I run a podcast about George R R Martin's WILD CARDS series and a "Difficult Books" reading group online. I am motivated by the challenge and joy of creating and sharing stories that defy categorization.
