I lead a team in raising funds so that kids in our community can access programs to help smooth the transition from being a teenager to an adult, which can be quite difficult otherwise. I also changed the way JA speaks from what we do why we do it and how it makes a difference to better engage a larger audience.

Responsible for working with individual donors, corporations and foundations to fund critical community programs offered by the YMCA of Northern Alberta in Edmonton & Area, Grande Prairie and Wood Buffalo.

Working with the provincial event fundraising teams and the national leadership team, I enhanced the Leadership Giving program by creating and implementing donor-centric processes. Through the creation of staple items such as a donor stewardship plan, report templates, and overall best practices for individual and foundation donations, as well as planned gifts, we successfully increased this revenue stream in Alberta & NWT.

In this role, I worked with a variety of fundraising programs. Activities within these programs included a number of donor-centred initiatives, such as donor events, direct response and personal solicitation with donors and prospects.

Built and maintained relationships with international funding organizations, including foundations and governments in order to financially support university-based capacity building projects internationally. I was also responsible for the day-to-day operations of international projects, including work plans, budgets ranging from $500,000 to $3M, and preparing financial and narrative reports for funding organizations.
