As a college scholar, I led a team that won international Business Plan and Pitch competitions across Asia and became finalists in multiple national startup competitions in the Philippines. I graduated Cum Laude in BSBA major in Marketing Management in 2018. Straight after, I helped grow the family business to gain hands-on experience for 5 months. In January of 2019 with almost no cooking experience, I saw a demand in the market and seized an opportunity to launch my own business. Within 2 months, I quickly learned the necessary skills and built a Japanese restaurant with only a lean team of 3 that caters 70 to more than 100 customers a day. I've trained and managed multiple staff. And also visited Japan in the summer of 2019 to further develop the menu and branding of my business. But the pandemic hit, forcing my humble restaurant to close permanently.
