DIGI houses the Roche group data, integrations and analytics platforms. Accountabilities include delivering seamless operational excellence, supervising critical aspects of information security and data storage cost optimisation. The artificial Intelligence and advanced analytics platform encompasses both research-focused and industrialised machine learning for manufacturing and commercial use-cases.Also responsible for “Roche Data Insights” RDI, a program that kicked off in 2021 to make Data reusable across the group.

As a data scientist at Thomson Reuters, I undertook projects for the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world. Integrating and modelling OMIC, clinical, informed consent and other complex data to answer questions of strategic business or research importance. My work involved ontology development, data modeling (relational & RDF), normalizing clinical and molecular data and project management.Responsibilities: - Project management - Technical lead on data management and life science projects - Creating conceptual/logical data models/database designs - Communicating with clients - Clinical trial analytics - Vertical data integration: omics, patient history, treatments, informed consent etc.

Subject: neuroscience & systems biologyResponsible for managing a 5 person multidisciplinary team of engineers, scientists and informaticians to punctually meet research goals set out by two EU-funded consortia, Eurospin and SynSys. The consortia had respective budgets of €10,739,837 and €11,952,691. Each consisted of companies and high-profile academic scientists specializing in large-scale data analysis. I was responsible for meeting several key deliverables and milestones, and for coordinating one complete work-package.I also initiated new international research collaborations and organized a workshop that brought together molecular biologists and bioinformaticians.

I was awarded a prestigious cancer research UK PhD scholarship to investigate the role of the gene and protein IRF-1 in cancer development. During my PhD I used bioinformatic and biochemical strategies to study IRF-1. My work was accepted for publication in a peer-reviewed journal. I was also invited to present my results at conferences in Warsaw, Berlin and Edinburgh. As a PhD student, I additionally supervised the work of two masters students, both of whom have since enjoyed successful careers in science.
