Greater China is a strategic region for SAP ambitious growth plans. While the market presents significant opportunities, there are profound regulatory, complex business dynamics and local compliance topics that requires careful balancing and navigation. • Commercialization of new business offerings for Greater China – partner with Business leadership and team to commercialize, deploy and design end-to-end finance support for the roll out of new business offerings in the region. • Deal support for strategic deals and critical commercial topics – work with Global Strategic teams, Sales Team, Customers and Partners for strategic deals (including software, service and cloud transactions). • Management of transformation projects – lead regional GFA projects (eg tasks force, simplification initiatives, effective governance process, deal approval process simplification). Lead and initiate the set-up of local Cloud Deal Support model to ensure prompt on-site support to business. • Leadership for Greater China Commercial Finance Team – organization building and stabilization, defining team identity/direction, team development.

With SAP’s accelerated growth into the Cloud business and intense transformation initiatives, primary responsibility includes:• Supporting Head of Deal Support, APJ in ensuring the smooth operation of the Deal Support organization in partnering with the business.• Leadership for APJ Pricing Team, including defining organization direction, strategic pricing initiatives and development of Pricing Specialists. • Collaborating with Services Line of Business in orchestrating the roll out of One Service for APJ. • Leading regional strategic deal support projects/initiatives. • Driving integration, standardization and simplification across commercial policies, processes and tools.

Three main area of responsibilities:(A) Revenue Recognition Support• Supporting regional management on revenue recognition topics, business models and deal structures. • Collaboration and business partnering with line of business stakeholders in developing and evaluating business models, policies and practices. • Provide revenue recognition guidance to SAP field organization in providing deal structuring guidance and solutions to field sales for non-routine transactions and non-standard terms & conditions.• Evaluate and resolving accounting position for major non-routine transactions with Corporate Revenue Recognition Team and KPMG.• Member of Global Revenue Recognition Committee (RRC) representing APJ in reviewing revenue recognition policies and practices. • Research, preparation of and review accounting Memorandums where needed to document accounting decisions taken at local and/or regional level.• Working in cross functional teams for implementation of new business models, policies, and requirements including training.• Review transactions executed above regional revenue threshold to ensure correctness of revenue accounting. • Manage KPMG quarterly revenue audit for APJ.• Devise and implement continuous process improvement for Revenue Recognition function. (B) Leadership for APJ Revenue Recognition Team• Define organization direction for APJ Revenue Recognition Team.• Lead and develop Specialists within my team. • Act as the functional representative in interaction with other GFA LoB. • People management and talent development of team members. Team member of Asia Pacific Internal Control Department. Responsible for ACS operational and project accounting audit, SOX testing and assistance to business group in ad hoc projects. Projects undertaken include the following:• Process review and improvement • Inventory accuracy study• Business conduct investigation / review• Accounting assessment / assistance

Responsible for software revenue recognition accounting. Primarily in charge of revenue compliance and review for India, Korea, Japan and China. Provide assistance for Singapore and Australia revenue compliance review. Part of business finance team involve with setting up infrastructure and process review for deal enablement. Perform VSOE (fair value) study and undertake ad-hoc projects as required.

Started my professional career with KPMG Singapore in August 2000 and was seconded to KPMG Silicon Valley office from November 2004 to June 2005. Promoted to audit manager in the US GAAP department upon returning in July 2005. Appraised as strong or exceptional performer in annual overall appraisal for 5 years in KPMG. Audit experience covers multinationals and US listed companies in the semiconductor, telecommunications and chemical & petroleum industry. Experienced in overseas assignments.
