About Angel Chen
Raised as the first in my family history to graduate school, I'm passionate about creating a world where everyone has equal access to opportunities. Opportunities to stoke curiosity, explore and play safely, and breathe clean air. This has led me to 8+ years leading teams to plan, develop, and launch impact-led projects with some of the world's most purposeful brands and grassroots groups across gender equity, climate justice, and civic action, underpinned by good governance to make sure commitments and actions are delivered. As Co-founder and COO at DrawHistory, a strategy and design firm for the Asia-Pacific, I've led an interdisciplinary team of over 20 strategists, researchers, and creatives to help business leaders align purpose with action. Much of this work has been unlocking over 200+ key client relationships with leading organisations such as Change.org, UNICEF, and Wikimedia Foundation — whether to level the playing field in global democracy or make mental health help more freely available in Australia — as well as propelling end-to-end ops in project delivery, finance, and people and culture to power our global practice. My belief in accountability as a big part of impact goes beyond DrawHistory, and global governance and philanthropy are spaces I continue to invest in. Some of this work is with the Board of Directors at Perth College Foundation, as their youngest elected Board Chair, where I help grow and invest our endowment fund of over A$26m toward access to quality and equitable education and mentorship for 1,000+ young women. It has also been with the World Economic Forum as an Impact Lead and Curator where I helped lead one of the largest youth consultations in Australia, surveying over 10,000 Gen-Zers and Millennials, to keep policymakers accountable to their constituents.Though above all, I'm happiest when I get to create pathways for people through my work, whether it's training with former Vice President Al Gore to equip others to navigate the climate crisis, or using my platform as a Forbes 30 Under 30 Listmaker to mentor the many other women emerging in business.
