    • Designed hardware components for 3 custom fuel cell stacks - one of which was for a high-volume design that cut down part count by 40% . • Created detailed and re-usable calculators for specific design features (threads and o-rings) that ensured sizing was correct on the first attempt - eliminating the need for any trial and error. • Created detailed component inspection plans for suppliers and QA. Worked with suppliers to resolve manufacturing issues and helped decrease rejected components down to almost 0. • Designed experiments and conducted tests for various hardware components to de-risk new designs or to ensure the quality of manufactured parts.• Interfaced with customers to answer detailed hardware questions and ensure smooth hand-off of information. • Supported fuel cell stack assembly for prototype and production hardware. • Created and reviewed detailed design drawings of components and assemblies using GD&T principles on Creo. • Conducted detailed inspections and measurements of incoming hardware parts - providing thorough reports of findings to QA and other stakeholders. • Carried out DFMEA for new designs to identify and mitigate high risk components.• Supported shock and vibration setup for testing of the fuel cell stack.• Learned basics of high voltage safety and applied this to design of isolation components. • Researched new materials for new hardware designs and conducted material validation tests.
  • Sepro Systems
    Mechanical Engineer
    Sepro Systems Jul 2021 - Feb 2022
    • Modified and finalized CAD assembly models - this included BOM clean up, part documentation into PDM, interfacing with the technical writing team, final CAD rendering using KeyShot, and customer handoff package (3D Evolution). • Ensured that every project package was organized, logged on the system, and reusable for future similar projects. • Conducted FEA of structural beams on SolidWorks - accounting for loading and vibration during operation.• Calculated critical tolerance stack ups. • As part of PDM team, I helped standardize processes and maintain existing libraries, while ensuring that new libraries followed best practices.• Designed retrofit sheet metal parts for existing systems.
  • Wtc Group
    Project Engineer
    Wtc Group Mar 2020 - Jun 2021
    • As part of WTC's new Freight Forwarding division, I managed over 20 clients’ project schedules, budgets and expectations.• Created reliable operation workflows that internal processes that accounted for all interdependencies. My new SOPs cut down each shipment's processing time by 50% and made vessel assignment almost automated using detailed Excel spreadsheet algorithms.
  • Vanrx Pharmasystems Inc.
    Mechanical Engineer
Vanrx Pharmasystems Inc. Nov 2018 - Feb 2020
    Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada
    • Handled ongoing technical design for VanRx's single-use, medical flow path product line that comprised of 30+ custom assemblies. • Worked with each customer to define new requirements, material limitations, accreditation requirements and ramp-up timeline.• Led incident investigations and followed strict documentation standards for vendor/production issues.• Started and led project to improve aseptic packaging design that resulted in 20% reduction of rejected assemblies. • Improved the design of an injection molded part, effectively reducing the number of rejected parts to nearly 0, all without the need for mold re-tooling. • Designed tight-tolerance mechanical components including robotic end-effector, sensor integration enclosures, and aseptic door seal. • Travelled internationally to troubleshoot clients' machines and diagnose robotic hardware issues.
  • The Martlet
    Staff Writer
    The Martlet Sep 2017 - Apr 2018
    Victoria, Bc
    • Worked part-time while completing 2 full engineering terms at university. • Pitched original and up-to-date story ideas at weekly staff meetings.• Collaborated with writers, volunteers, and editors to produce compelling and factually-sound stories. • Edited copy and completed writing for web publishing and a bi-monthly print publication.• Gathered facts from relevant research, personal connections, and in-person interviews.
  • Tesla
    Drive Systems Assembly Engineering Intern
    Tesla Jul 2017 - Aug 2017
    Palo Alto, Ca
    • Worked on 3 drive train projects with the prototype assembly team to manage the digital motor parts on the PDM system.• Took separately designed mechanical motor parts and assembled them in Catia V5 while writing the complete and proper assembly documentation. • Communicate any assembly challenges or issues with each mechanical designer and suggested compromises/solutions.• Specified the complete hand-assembly process for the prototype drive train to the manufacturing group. • Created realistic 3D renderings using Keyshot of all Tesla drive trains for marketing/funding projects
  • Tesla
    Mechanical Design Engineering Intern
    Tesla Jan 2017 - Jun 2017
    Palo Alto, California
    • Designed plastic injection molded parts using 3D surfacing and basic modelling on Catia V5. Parts designed range from wire harness mounting supports that connected to the car’s body in white, small PCB housings (such as for the rear-view mirror camera), custom electrical connectors, and key fob housing.• 3D printed prototypes of each plastic part and iterated designs at a fast pace.• Conducted CMM measurements and 3D scans of critical parts. Conducted design-for-manufacturing reviews and presentations with plastic injection molding suppliers.• Engaged team members on factory floor to test prototype parts, integrate new parts with existing assemblies, and implement new parts on future car releases. • Along with an electrical engineer, designed a proof-of-concept electrical connector, similar to a USB A, with a simple poka-yoke design that could be clicked in with minimal force by a robotic end-effector. • Designed a prototype robotic end effector for a Kuka robot to handle electrical connectors with the end goal of automating the car’s wire harness assembly.TOP SKILLS: 3D CAD surface modelling using CATIA, 3D printing, plastic injection molding design, factory floor testing/implementation, electrical connector design, Kuka robot programming, robot end effector design. interdisciplinary collaboration.
