PhD in Environmental Engineering – In practice I’ve specialised in surveying techniques, both traditional and satellite-based, aimed at monitoring anthropic structures, and soil, for movements related to hydrogeological risk.I have dedicated a large part of my career to the art of writing codes for processing GNSS and radar (satellite and terrestrial). I do really enjoy process automation and problem solving, particularly with such fascinating tools.Adapting to work in extreme environments has become something of my passion! One I’ve acquired during several expeditions to Antarctica. This has included two annual expeditions to the French-Italian remote station Concordia, and four summer expeditions to the Italian station Mario Zucchelli. In particular, these annual expeditions required a continuous stay of 12 months each on the Antarctic plateau at an altitude of over 3200 m. Nine months of which were spent in the company of a team of just 13 people in complete isolation. Something as close to space flight one can experience while still on the Earth’s surface! Needless to say, we had a strong team!
