My responsibilities were to oversee and coordinate design elements within MTO Right of Way to ensure compliance to MTO standards and provide design alternatives to the Project Consortium during design workshops to ensure a compliant design. Engineering Materials Office, Soils and Aggregates Section: September 2020 – May 2021I was responsible for researching and testing various aggregates in this role. I worked on a Non-Standard Special Provision Project where I was testing a Granular B Type I Aggregate which contained plastic fines to determine its performance against current MTO standards and testing methods. I also worked on a project to determine a suitable replacement for Spratt III, which is the current reference material used for Potential Alkali Reactivity of Aggregates Mortar Bar Method. Corridor Management Office:October 2019 – September 2020I was the encroachment officer for Peel and Simcoe Regions. I reviewed design proposals to ensure that MTO future plans and designs are not compromised. I oversaw and ensured the timely delivery of encroachment permits for my area of coverage. I reviewed engineering drawings to ensure that the highway right of way was protected and ensured that the Highway Corridor Manual was followed. I interacted with the public, members of various agencies, municipalities, and regions to describe and assist in the permitting process. Operations Office:May 2019 – October 2019I was an Inspector on a bridge rehabilitation project and Contract Administrator for a rout and seal project. In this role I coordinated road closures, interpreted the contract, ensured quality of construction, resolved on field design disputes and ensured the timely delivery of the project. -
