Senior Research ScientistTwo Six Technologies Sep 2021 - PresentArlington, Virginia, United StatesMy research involves working with theorem provers and using general formal methods to prove code meets specifications. I have some reverse engineering experience along those lines. I also work with both NLP and adversarial Computer Vision machine learning, and explore their interactions with formal methods. -
Graduate StudentThe Ohio State University College Of Arts And Sciences Jul 2017 - Aug 2020I was a Teacher's Assistant (TA) for Calculus 1 at OSU in the Fall of 2019, and supported by departmental and university scholarships and fellowships during the rest of my graduate career. I was rated above average in all aspects by my students, and look forward to roles which use and continue to foster my teaching abilities. My work involved taking math courses at OSU and also involved research. My research was in homological algebra, specifically the generalization of abelian sheaf and cosheaf (co)homologies on cellular complexes to a unified theory of (co)homologies of both abelian sheaves and cosheaves simultaneously on cellular complexes. -
Research AssistantNew Jersey Institute Of Technology Sep 2016 - Jul 2017Newark, New Jersey, United StatesThis research was part of the 2016-2017 NJIT Applied Math Capstone project. I was part of the research team inside this Capstone project which used MATLAB and the Javaplex package to compute the persistent homology of simulated 2D and 3D compressed granular particle systems. We were studying the percolation and packing characteristics of these granular systems to see how these characteristics varied with system size and dimension as the packing fraction and force threshold increases. My responsibilities included cleaning the simulated data of irrelevant homological artifacts, running the imported Javaplex persistent homology calculator, interpreting the resulting homology barcodes for other teams, and graphing persistence diagrams in MATLAB. I also computed Wasserstein and Bottleneck distances between these persistence diagrams for different system sizes and dimensions. In the end, we found that system sizes do not drastically affect the results. However there was a marked difference between the 2D and 3D graphs of Betti numbers vs. the packing fraction and force threshold. -
Research AssistantMiami University Jun 2015 - Jul 2015Oxford, Ohio, United StatesThe 2015 SUMSRI REU at Miami University consisted of introductory graduate classes in real analysis and abstract algebra followed by supervised research with students split into teams. The research focused on geometric group theory and specifically my team studied Thompson's group T. There was a paper published by French authors Ghys and Sergiescu in the 1980s which calculated the homology of Thompson's group T, but the methods were lost to time and hard to understand. Using the technology of discrete Morse theory, we re-calculated the homology of this group. -
InternPicatinny Arsenal Sep 2012 - Jun 2013Dover, New Jersey, United StatesI worked as a QA tester for the US Army Armament Research, Development and Engineering Center (ARDEC) on the Common Remotely Operated Weapon Station (CROWS). My work with ARDEC was in the Software Integration Laboratory, where my responsibilities were to write software test descriptions to verify and validate the correct implementation of software requirements. I recorded test outcomes and characterized system performance metrics that would then be reported to the development team.I also worked with the Aeroballistics Division in their wind tunnel facility testing the aerodynamic characteristics of various designs of mortar shells. My responsibilities included compiling raw data from the test machine and graphing the results in Excel, as well as doing some basic statistics. For example, I helped find average wind speed velocities of the mortar shell models and variance, which helped determine the fastest and most stable mortar shell designs.
