In my position as a call and student assistant in the Alumni Relations and Resource Development Offices of Johnson and Wales University, I exchanged in conversation with alumni to update current employment, area of living, etc., as well as provide invitations for specialty on-campus and alumni events. In addition to my role as a Student Assistant, I participated in teaching events with Johnson & Wales Chefs/Professors in instructing and educating adults and children in the arts of baking and pastry. I worked one-on-one with the Chef teaching the course to assist in prep, course development and methods to help educate the class. Courses I assisted with include: chocolate confectionary, pastry, baking basics, and more.I also participated as a student assistant for small & large events coordinated by the Alumni Relations and Resource Development Department, including working with some University sports teams and organizations to collect donations.

I worked as a Food & Beverage Intern, handling common baking and pastry tasks, producing baked goods and pastry items for dessert plates and special events. I worked in many areas of the kitchen, including prep work, plating desserts on the expedite line, and worked directly with management on coordinating dessert plating and dessert layouts. I helped with wedding cake decoration and designed event space layouts for weddings, parties, and specialty events. Other traditional food service tasks assisted with are: assisting management on specific food service projects, mass baked goods production, serving customers, working as a team to complete event & production quota amounts.
