Responsible for the product offering, R&D, production, purchases, application development and IPR. My main task was to run the company’s innovation process and act as the link between marketing and engineering:• Collection and interpretation of market needs• Selection and definition of product features• Management of the development process• Transformation from prototype to series production• Creation of product offeringDuring my time as CTO, I reorganised the entire product structure, with the aim to make the marketing, sales and delivery processes more efficient. This work resulted in significantly lowered lead times and substantially improved gross margin. It also had beneficial effects on inventory structure and production reliability.I initiated, specified, procured and led the implementation of a new ERP system (Monitor ERP), which also improved the synchronisation between production and sales. I also wrote a successful Vinnova application and managed the following project in collaboration with two universities, which resulted in a patent application and winning an R&D100 Award.(Nanofactory Instruments develops, produces and distributes advanced research instrumentation.)

Preparation and management of all development projects (both internal and collaborative projects including an EU FP6 project together with several European academic and industrial parters), as well as requirement specifications and market analysis. Technical sales support and application developmentMy main achievement was to systematise the previously disorganised product development into defined and controllable projects. I also initiated simple check lists and procedures to screen proposals for new products and better estimate their business potential.

Development of international standards for nanotechnology

Management of a centre for contract research in the field of materials science (MACH – Material Analysis at Chalmers).I built the centre from scratch and created its business model. As the centre´s sales and project manager, I commissioned over 100 consultant projects during a three year period. I developed the centre’s CRM (Lundalogik Kontakt) and business systems (MS Access) along with the web platform. Head organiser of SCANDEM2005, the annual conference and commercial exhibition of the Nordic Microscopy Society. On paternal leave 2005-11 to 2006-08.

Self-employed consultant within materials research, project management and organisational development. I also did some software development, mainly MatLab and MS Access applications.
