About Angie Backman

I bring more than 30 years of customer service experience and managerial skills. This experience stems from family owned businesses in the customer service related field while growing up and attending school in Australia. I am currently enrolled in college and I am very proudly maintaining a 3.9 GPA in business management. I excel in problem solving and process development, these are my passions and fit well with my current position as the Lead Functional Assistant on the Navy Human Resources Benefits Call Center Contract (HRBCC). The Lead Functional Assistant ensures the quality assurance of over 150000 phone calls and emails as well extensive extra work in the special process department supporting a large number of physical mailings and other activities. HRBCC staff must be highly qualified in all federal benefit subjects and it is the Lead Functional Assistants job to ensure they are highly trained and subject matter experts in all areas. I also bring experience developing project reports to ensure that federal customer is aware of project status. The past 10 years of customer service experience include documenting detailed reports in a high volume environment.

Edits and thoroughly reviews reports prior to sending to Navy customer.· Trains all employees on federal benefits rules and regulations, DON SOP’s and in house processes. · Develops and updates all training materials· Develops and works directly with the Department of Navy in updating the DON SOP'S.· Updates all reference materials on numerous changes.· Answers emails and phone calls from Department of the Navy Civilians in a call center environment in order to assist with benefit processing needs including, benefit elections for health insurance, life insurance, Thrift Savings Plans and Retirement.· Leverages a variety of interviewing techniques to extract all pertinent benefit information from callers and ensure that callers are not fraudulently claiming benefits that they are not entitled to.
