I am currently employed as a systems administrator with Ginsburg Dermatology Center (Dr. Ginsburg is great to work for). I've been employed by Dr. Ginsburg since 2000 and wear many “hats” at the office. I am responsible for installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of server and workstation hardware and software. I am responsible for disaster recovery as well as securing both our wired and wireless networks. I also install and configure all network printers and other peripherals.I have, in the past couple of years taken over Dr. Ginsburg’s advertising. This is probably the most rewarding part of my career. I have seen my suggestions for advertising become successful and have helped the company’s revenue grow year by year. I design all print ads (you can usually find us in Black and White) and played a major role in the designing of company billboards. If you are local, you’ve probably seen my work on many billboards throughout the Birmingham area. My most recent project has been implementing a pharmacy at the dermatology center. I believe that patients should be able to get their prescriptions filled while they are visiting the office instead of having to make an additional stop at the pharmacy. I have hopes that this will be successful.I am responsible for Dr. Ginsburg’s credentialing as well as office payroll. I also keep track of employee PTO (paid time off) and try to keep our website as current as possible.

I started working at UAB through their temporary service as a clerical temp. I was hired permanently with UAB Behavioral Medicine Unit. From there I helped the systems administrator install hardware on workstations and that is all it took for my fascination with computers to take off. I went on and received my CNA in novell and was promoted within a year to a computer tech. I had many responsibilities in the clerical position I held at UAB. I worked for three doctors in which I kept their CVs up to date, helped in grant preparation and also kept up with travel. When I was promoted to computer tech I assisted the systems administrator with everyday running of the computer network.

I was hired as a stenographer for the Jefferson County Department of Revenue. While working for Jefferson County my main job was taking shorthand/dictation from my supervisor.
