The arts have been a large part of my life for as long as I can remember, beginning with music. I’ve always been passionate about singing and performing, and as I’ve explored the arts, I’ve realized my passions within the arts are intertwined. I’m currently studying music, theatre, and arts management at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, and I’m very intrigued by all three areas of the arts. This past semester, I worked as an intern to a music professor, and while it opened my eyes to the administration aspects of coordinating a large vocal competition, it also enabled me to meet professional singers who have inspired me to consider continuing my vocal studies in graduate school. However, for a future career, I’d like to keep my mind open to any of these fields because they all have so much to offer. I love the theatrical environment as well and might prefer to work in a theatre as time goes on. The arts have the unique characteristic of touching every person in a different way, and they enable people to express themselves in ways that would be impossible in other mediums. It has been said that “music can change the world because it can change people,” and I believe that of all the arts. For that reason, I hope to have a career in the arts someday, whether it be in management, music, or theatre.
