Leading Career Pathways Initiative as Interim Director; supervising 22 community college program directors through the FY18 budget process; planning innovative changes to the statewide program so that more students can be assisted; developing the ArFuture Grant Mentor Leadership and Community Service program for all schools within Arkansas; implementing legislative actions for college and universities (Suicide Prevention, Sexual Assault, Domestic Abuse, Human Trafficking and Unplanned Pregnancies) through a collaborative method; grant writing for funds to assist colleges in the above legislative actions ($62,000 awarded this calendar year thus far). Developed a program from Act 943, the Prevention of Unplanned Pregnancy among college young adults that is being implemented on every public college and university campus; Developed and implemented student success programs for all Arkansas colleges and universities; oversaw statewide Academic Program Review process for all colleges and universities; reviewed all college and universities institutional reports on faculty performance; reviewed academic program proposals and letters of notifications; special projects as assigned by the Director of the Arkansas Department of Higher Education.

Manager of Legal OperationsAcquired six international law firms to donate legal services to Room to Read on a global scale saving Room to Read approximately $450,000 since 2008; worked with four of the law firms to donate funds to build libraries and schools in Asia. Served as manager for Room to Read’s ten international boards. Served as director on two of the boards and as a General Assembly Member in another. Developed and managed the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) policy for all Room to Read global offices to ensure no funds are being received or given to any organization or individual associated with terrorist or illegal activity – mandated by U.S. Treasury Department. Responsible for all U.S. annual compliance filings associated with traditional and online fundraising. Led legal assessments for all country offices to determine legal, human resources, governmental and fundraising compliance. Works successfully with international staff and attorneys; ensures global availability for telephone and video calls at all hours. Supervised work of legal intern and attorneys across the globe. Managed special projects for board members. Led onsite human resource and procurement investigation in foreign country. Drafted and reviewed grant contracts, Memoranda of Understanding with international and national partners, independent contract agreements, and event contracts with hotels, caterers and subcontractors.

Senior Legal SpecialistSupervised community development work in countries per legal distinction; directed work for law firms in 50 countries in support of all program and development offices. Led legal assessments of all country offices to determine legal, human resources, governmental and fundraising compliance. Supervised work of legal interns, several staff members and volunteers. Worked successfully with international staff and attorneys, ensuring global availability for telephone and video calls at all hours. Managed special projects for board members. Led onsite (international) human resource investigations and assessments for the CEO. Drafted and reviewed grant contracts, memoranda of understanding with international and national partners, independent contract agreements, and event contracts with hotels, caterers and subcontractors. Worked with several task forces to develop human resource manual and policies, processes and the Heifer International Crisis Management Plan for all global offices. Worked for several years with top engineers, architects, fundraisers and construction companies on a task force to build the new Heifer International LEED certified headquarters. Human Resources Specialist: Conducted all payroll processing for Heifer International and was backup for Benefits Manager. Oversaw payment of payroll taxes, unemployment claims and garnishments for employees in Arkansas.
