CEO, Helping Irish HostsHelping Irish Hosts (HIH) is a limited company formed by a group of hosts, working together with displaced and Irish based Ukrainians, to get people into Irish homes – quickly – to give them a soft landing, while avoiding Direct Provision and long term hotel / government accommodation stays. We arose in direct response to the Ukraine crisis in March 2022. Our mission is to empower and support individuals and communities in Ireland to host displaced Ukrainians in their homes, safely and sustainably. We have matched over 2,600 Ukrainians in more than 1,200 homes across Ireland, created a vibrant, trusted support network for hosts and presented a strong voice in advocacy for hosts at all levels. Our range of supports and resources are open to all hosts, however their match came about. In April 2023 we joined a consortium of partners responsible for the activation of public accommodation pledges on behalf of the state (DCEDIY), along with IOM, Peter McVerry Trust and leading consortium partner, The Irish Red Cross. We are funded by The One Foundation, The Sunflower Foundation, The Community Foundation, The Shapiro Foundation, Choose Love and our Service Level Agreement with The Irish Red Cross. We are supported in other ways by a wide variety of individual, corporate and state partners. We are registered as a not for profit CLG (717469, April 13, 2022). We are not a charity (we tried). Our hosts are motivated by a desire to help people fleeing Ukraine and this is our focus. Our belief is that this response has the potential to transform Ireland’s ongoing refugee response, to finally move away from Direct Provision towards a system Ireland can be proud of. We are hosts, helping hosts. Together, we are playing our part in this historic, unprecedented, global emergency humanitarian response. If you can support our work, or are ready to host immediately, please get in touch via the website www.helpingirishhosts.iehttps://www.helpingirishhosts.com

CeoHelping Irish Hosts Mar 2022 - PresentDublin, County Dublin, IrelandHelping Irish Hosts is an organised group of hosts, working together with displaced and Irish based Ukrainians, to give people a soft landing in Ireland, avoiding Direct Provision. Our mission is to empower and support individuals and communities in Ireland to host Ukrainians in their homes, safely and sustainably. Helping Irish Hosts has placed almost 800 Ukrainians in over 260 Irish homes since March, via our unique, safe matching process. We have also created an up to date, accurate, practical information resource for hosts and Ukrainians at www.helpingirishhosts.com and built a support network that has made these matches sustainable and long term. Our advocacy efforts were effective in securing commitment for €400 monthly recognition payment for all hosts. My own family is hosting 2 Ukrainian families, who have been with us since March 5. We have been advocating far and wide, on TV, radio, print and in our own networks to encourage hosting in homes. Our success to date demonstrates we are an integral part of the national response to the humanitarian crisis and are in a strong position to further contribute to the long term hosting solution strategy. In response to the continued and increased demand for accommodation and integration we aim to scale up both our Host Support and Onboarding & Matchmaking models and play an active role in meeting Ireland’s refugee settlement commitments. We are engaged with Government, The Irish Red Cross, Irish Refugee Council and other NGOs and civil society groups to inform our efforts and advocate for current hosts. We are in the process of charity registration and are open to all offers of support to enable us to scale up our efforts. -

Founder & ProducerThe Artskickers Awards Jan 2017 - Dec 2019London, United KingdomThe #Artskickers Awards connects, rewards and promotes individuals and organisations in East London who positively impact the lives of people through the arts. I’m so proud to be the person who built and galvanised a brilliant, diverse team to create the beautiful thing it turned out to be – a celebration of hundreds of artists and artist enablers on the site of Shakespeare’s original Globe Theatre in Shoreditch in year 1. To launch the Awards in its second year, Co-Producer Kay Richardson and I brought together an orchestra with young people from across London, who worked with conductor Gijs Kramers and musician Renell Shaw to create an original symphony, which we toured across the capital - 6 outdoor venues in one day - The #Artskickers Urban Symphony. It was really impactful and inspiring, platforming and developing young artists, meeting audiences where they are, consolidating relationships with funders, sponsors, artists and communities and attracting new support, publicity and nominations. In 2018, we built The #Artskickers Stage, situated in a garden in the heart of Dalston. Designed by artist Morag Myerscough, informed by the local community, built by Adam Lloyd Construction, sponsored by Galliard Homes with support from Arts Council England, and used by hundreds of performers and community groups – an outdoor haven and model for what’s possible when stakeholders take a leap of faith together to create something special. -
