About Angie Sun
Hi, there! I am Angie. I am an industrial designer who is really into sustainable design. I am currently taking my master's degree in strategic design and management (SDM) at Parsons in NYC. I have worked as a furniture designer for a year at Flexsteel Industries in Iowa and as an auto parts design engineer at Nanchang Yisheng in China. At Flexsteel, I focused on new furniture development, enhancing my design skills, like design research and concept development. At Yisheng, I focused on the engineering side, learning equipment tuning and experimenting with sample testing for future mass production. The reason I chose to study SDM at this point is because I found out business is crucial in every industry, especially for designers and engineers. There is a gap between designers and businesspeople. I believe SDM would help me to bridge the gap. My motto: Seeking a balance between people, the planet, and profit!
