Dr Linus Ang is currently a Scientist at the Institute of High Performance Computing (IHPC) under the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR). In this role, his work focuses on developing aircraft noise map prediction capability for an in-house environmental modelling tool. Concurrently, he has delivered lectures on outdoor acoustics at the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) as an Associate Faculty.Previously, he was an Assistant Principal Engineer and Deputy System Head at ST Engineering for more than 7 years. As a certified vibration analyst, he worked on noise and vibration control in military platforms, leading various initiatives and product development through scientific research.In 2013, he graduated from the Nanyang Technological University with a BEng degree in mechanical engineering. During the study, he was first exposed to acoustics through internship and final year project, focusing on acoustic testing and aeroacoustics, respectively.In 2019, he graduated from the National University of Singapore with a PhD degree in mechanical engineering. His research focused on acoustic metamaterials for low-frequency noise control, which was featured by the mass media and received recognition by the Acoustical Society of America (ASA) and the Society of Acoustics Singapore (SAS).He has more than 20 publications in peer-reviewed journals and conferences. He is currently the Guest Editor for a special issue in the journal Acoustics. He was part of the organizing committee for an international conference. Recently, he was awarded the ICA-ASA Young Scientist Conference Grant and the I-INCE Young Professional Conference Grant.
