Since April 2020, I have worked as a formulation scientist at Teva Pharmaceuticals. In this role, I have successfully managed critical projects involving diverse drug delivery systems. From project kick-off to processing handoff, I have overseen formulation development with utmost precision. Furthermore, I have consistently embraced an innovative mindset, seeking novel ways to optimize lab-scale drug development for processing scale-up and designing new in vitro testing for product assessment. Notably, I set the precedent at Teva for replacing clinical trials with GMP In Vitro Permeation Testing as an accepted method of establishing bioequivalence of transdermal drug delivery. I established the use of predictive software in lab scale optimization. In addition, I co-investigated and co-wrote a 1.25 million US FDA grant submission, pioneering an in vitro-ex-vivo adhesion testing method. Demonstrating exceptional technical leadership, I developed a comprehensive training program covering the entire product development process. I effectively used this program to fully equip a senior scientist with no prior experience in transdermal or topical delivery routes. Additionally, I personalized portions of this program to mentor summer interns based on their aspirations and interests. Above all, I approach each challenge systematically, by performing thorough literature searches, developing testing methods, conducting rigorous experiments, and meticulously consolidation my findings in presentations and formal reports. My time at Teva Pharmaceuticals has not only sharpened my adaptability in diverse laboratory environments but also reinforced my methodical approach to driving scientific advancements.

I Synthesize D-peptide hits and targets in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment using manual methods, peptide synthesizers, LC/MS, and analytical/prep HPLC in order to develop optimized therapeutics. In addition, I perform routine maintenance and repairs on our instruments and automated peptide synthesizers. My underlying focus is to create innovative approaches that tackle challenges in D-peptide synthesis including designing synthetic peptide libraries, developing a heat resistant resin, and advancing orthogonal protecting group strategies. As a highlight, I presented at the Boulder Peptide Symposium (2019) on the unique properties and applications of a discovered ester intermediate useful in general peptide synthesis

Performed cytotoxicity, chromosome aberration, genotoxicity and hemotoxicity testing in the biocompatibility department. I was responsible for maintaining an L929 cell line for cytotoxicity, as well as ordering supplies for the hemotoxicity testing. In addition, I fulfilled my role as a certified master trainer by supervising and training new employees in accordance with GLP regulations.
