I'm Angela! I have been with Hillcrest for going on 10 years now. I am incredibly passionate about tackling complex issues such as: poverty, cultural competence, mental health, and child abuse. I recently achieved a certification in the Stewards of Children and realized something very quickly: we simply are failing our children. The world tends to turn a blind eye to hard topics such as sexual abuse because it is deemed "uncomfortable". That has become my niche and I am working hard to bridge the gap, connect with community resources and bring education/awareness so that we can do what we can to bring change to this horrific area. I refuse to turn a blind eye. As Martin Luther King Jr. once said,"Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter."
