My background as a librarian offers an ideal skillset for many jobs, including my current role as a researcher. I have academic research skills, corporate research skills, and extensive knowledge of search resource across industries. Because I worked with the public for years, my customer services skills are honed and excellent. I have years of working on library UX projects under my belt, including writing, executing and analyzing specific user tests of the library catalog. I'm currently involved in survey writing and execution at my job. I'm experienced in MARC and RDA, which means I understand a taxonomy, and now I work in a proprietary database, giving me a first-hand look at building taxonomies.I'm an incredibly fast learner, and an efficient worker. Being a researcher means multitasking every single day, and prioritizing which tasks and requests have to be done immediately, and which tasks can wait. I'm excellent at picking up new technologies, and now have experience in Quickbase and Salesforce.
