I am a senior in the Haslam College of Business at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville working towards a business degree in Human Resource Management with a collateral in International Business. I have always been one to adapt to any work environment. I worked at a fast-paced changing pharmaceutical warehouse going from a line worker to a Quality Assurance associate having to change workplace practices every few months. Currently, I work at Once Upon a Child and I quickly learned most tasks in the workplace in a few weeks. Relationship building among colleagues and customers is another strength of mine. I made good relationships with all my current colleagues who constantly praise me for the work I do as well as building relationships with returning customers.Some of my business interests are bringing diversity and inclusion into the workplace environment. My experience with customer service and using communication skills have prepared me to pursue a career in Human Resources. For example, I must change my wording and have good communication skills to tell the customers why we can’t accept certain clothing items. In HR, communication is vital, especially when speaking to employees and possible employees. My career goal after college is to work in a Human Resource position, helping people and making the work environment safe and enjoyable.
