    Brandon Hire provided small tools and other specialist equipment for hire from a network of 143 locations throughout the UK. There were over 900 hundred employees and c30,000 account customers and a further 10% through cash (consumer) transactions. Until exit to Vp plc in November 2017, reported to the CEO whilst working closely with other Directors. In conjunction with the Group Operations Director and his regional team I developed customer service excellence, revenue growth and cost reduction across the network. I also work extensively with the Group Finance Director on key commercial deliverables – pricing, discounts, debt management and margin enhancement projects. Given the seniority of my role and the agile nature of private equity invested businesses, I have taken a hands-on approach to HR, supplier relations and the introduction of new products. I was extensively involved in direct customer marketing. Role overview:Position the business for exit: driving revenue and EBITDA by improving cash performance and cutting costs wherever possible. Role overviewReporting to Managing Director, there were four distinct phases to this role:1st 2007: The initial brief was to design and build a national sales structure from the fragmented base. This involved organisation design, extensive recruitment, restructuring, development of a performance management plan and creation of a full suite of communication materials with the following key outcomes:• Successfully designed and delivered uniform UK Sales Structure• Lead sponsor: charter for business improvement and margin enhancement • Re-structured Key Accounts from a Regional to National basis delivering 20% growth across the segment. 2nd 2008/09: With the change in market condition affecting the business rapidly restructured in line with its own requirements and corporate objectives from Wolseley plc. Head count was reduced from over 1,500 to less than 1,000 affecting all areas of the business. • Restructured Sales team in line with market and business performance. Reducing headcount from 65 to 26 by selection and consultation, total saving £1.6m pa• Won major contracts with Babcock plc and EMCOR Group.3rd 2010: Brandon Hire was selected for divestment by Wolseley plc and I was retained as part of the management team to package the business for sale. • Contributed extensively to Information Memorandum and Vender Due Diligence. 4th 2010/11: Change from plc to private equity ‘hands on’ and ‘lean’ culture.
