I am a Junior Barrister to Simon Mitchell KC and have been admitted since November 2023. I’m interested in a range of employment law issues with a special focus on employment markets, industrial action and unionisation. I also take an interest in public law and competition law issues. I’ve also worked as a political communications advisor and have assisted in the teaching of an undergraduate political marketing course at the University of Auckland.

As part of the Government Legal Network summer clerk program, I work with the corporate legal team. The corporate legal team provides internal legal advice to Public Trust (as a corporate entity) across a variety of subject matters, including contracting, property matters, privacy and official information requests, compliance obligations, the board, subsidiary governance and CTS legal issues. I assist the team by providing research on case and statutory law to help inform the advice that they would give to the Public Trust teams.

I was the recipient of a summer studentship where I got the opportunity to work with the Online Cenotaph team on a World War Two Prisoner of War project. The project had three phases:- The first phase involved basic data cleaning. I worked through the Museum's list of camps that held New Zealanders to ensure spelling, double-ups or general errors were amended. - The second phase involved detailed research on the camps that New Zealanders were in. This required me to read over hundreds of primary documents and literature of New Zealand Prisoners of War to ascertain locations, amount of prisoners, their travels and other relevant information for each camp- The third phase involved creating a report of my findings, including reflecting on the challenges of the research, reviewing the sources that I used and sharing some stories that I came across whilst researching
