I work in the firm's litigation department, with a focus on commercial and contentious estate litigation.I operate autonomously to manage client files and develop strategies, prepare matters for court, and advise clients. I have substantial court experience in the Magistrates, District, and Supreme Courts, including in court mediation conferences, status and case management conferences, interlocutory applications, and final hearings of chambers applications. I have a particular interest in our deceased estate litigation.My estates work includes family provision claims, superannuation disputes, executor's commissions, applications for directions, applications to remove LPRs, and applications under the Charitable Trusts Act. I also deal with related litigation (e.g., disputes over possession of Estate real property).I am responsible for supervising and mentoring junior staff, including settling their work, and working with them to improve their professional skills and knowledge. I have also taken part in interviewing and hiring staff.I have co-authored submissions to the WA Legal Costs Committee in respect of contentious costs determinations, and authored submissions to the Magistrates Court in respect the court's enforcement processes.I am regularly innovating within my practice area and the firm generally. I contribute to the development of the firm's in-house practice management software through feature requests, bug reports, and optimisation of the firm's workflows and process models. I assist with updating process models and features (automating them if possible) to improve the delivery of our services, helping to lower client costs and to allowing me to take on an expanded, more interesting workload.Finally, I have had a strong impact on team culture. I have organised many social events during my time at the firm, and in 2024 organised for the team to participate in the HBF Run for a Reason (including devising and running a training program).

I am part of the teaching staff for the Civil Procedure unit at the University of Western Australia. This role involves teaching weekly tutorials, fielding student questions, liaising with the lecturers and unit co-ordinators where required, and marking student work.Teaching and mentoring is something I find valuable and rewarding, and I was pleased to receive very positive feedback from students both directly and through the anonymous student feedback surveys conducted by UWA at the conclusion of the course).
