My role relies on me understanding current local and international fertilizer markets and international money markets to ensure we can lock in the most competitive prices and be able to explain why these prices are the way they are to customers. Talent Search International is an executive search company in Malaysia. My role as an intern was much more than making coffee. Working with three other interns, we were tasked with relaunching a finance job board, Asia Finance Jobs. My role included being the project manager and establishing a psychometric testing component within the job board. This saw me researching, strategizing, marketing and establishing new clientele, both locally and internationally, before implementing the solution, overall enhancing my professional communication and problem solving skills.

This customer service intensive industry has enabled me to gain valuable experience in customer services, sales and also meat handling skills. I completed volunteer work with Engineers Without Borders Australia in conjunction with Swinburne University of Technology. Two fellow graduates and I were involved in researching the removal of arsenic from drinking water in Cambodia using sand filters. The research was captivating as was the insight into the lives and struggles of communities around the world. I undertook this work between semesters as it has an immense impact on and benefit for individuals less privileged than the majority currently living in Australia. It is a remarkable feeling having the capacity to influence others’ health from such distance.

Door to Door Hire is an equipment hire company specializing in excavators / earth moving equipment and smaller scale machinery associated with the building industry. As a Customer Service Officer in the hire industry I am skilled in, but not limited to direct customer relations both on site and in store, maintenance of equipment, delivery driver and running the computer operations system.I have experienced all facets of the hire industry.

My main requirement in this job was the safe demolition of houses and small factories. This labor intensive job gave me a practical understanding of housing structures and waste management as well as a diverse array of machinery.
