COLLABORATION TECHNOLOGY GROUPI am a senior engineering leader for Cisco’s Prime Collaboration suite of three network management products – Provisioning, Assurance and Analytics. For example, 50% reduction release-over-release (instead of typical 10%) in bug backlog when time to ship.

NETWORK MANAGEMENT TECHNOLOGY GROUP - Optical TransportI ran a high-performing QA/test engineering organization testing the Cisco Transport Manager application for Cisco’s Optical Networking Switch product family (ONS 15454, ONS 15327, ONS 15600). Initially US-based exclusively, I recruited and developed equivalent teams in India (Bangalore) and Italy (Monza). My leadership scope evolved to include Cisco WAN Manager and Media Gateway Manager teams. During this time, I successfully completed a TL9000 compliance audit. CTM became one of the first products in Cisco to achieve TL9000 certification.

OPTICAL TRANSPORT BUSINESS UNITI recruited and then managed a test engineering group for the brand new ONS 15327 platform. This experience was from original product conception to first customer ship. Shortly after that product's launch, I transitioned to manage an existing group testing both the ONS 15454 and 15327 control plane and data line cards (E, G, ML series) test team.I reviewed and provided feedback on product requirements and design documents. I wrote release test plans and then tracked and reported results of all testing. I closely worked with development teams to design test strategies and build suitable test environments.With respect to optical (SONET/SDH) and the ONS 15327, I designed and built-out the test lab. I also created and managed test cases and test results for its very first shipping release.During this time, the ONS 15454 was a Pioneer Award finalist, which recognizes the best in engineering innovation.During this time, I was selected as a Cisco innovator for my work on the ONS 15327. I was interviewed by Cisco press, and then my story posted on Cisco's corporate website for visibility.

As a test engineer, I wrote product and system test plans for Cerent's first product, the Cerent 454. This was a second generation SONET ADM (Add-Drop Multiplexor) that also supported TCP/IP data switching.I executed test cases, analyzed outcomes/issues and reported results. I led feature testing of UPSR, Circuit Provisioning, Performance Monitoring and Common Equipment protection features to name a few.Within a couple weeks of joining Cerent, my onsite customer interactions included RCN (Pennsylvania) and HTC (South Carolina). I wrote trip reports on each engagement and shared my customer knowledge with the entire test organization.Cerent was acquired by Cisco Systems.
