Angus Smith spent more than 30 years as an intelligence analyst and advisor with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. His areas of specialization included Latin America, drug trafficking, police corruption, Eastern European organized crime and terrorism and national security. He taught at the Canadian Police College, delivered intelligence and anti-corruption workshops in Eastern Europe and Latin America and has testified before the Senate of Canada. He briefed the RCMP executive and senior government officials on criminal and national security matters and was responsible for continuing engagement with key US and international law enforcement and intelligence partners and an array of special projects on national security issues. Angus currently lives on the South Shore of Nova Scotia where he keeps bees and writes for a variety of publications including The Jewish Review of Books, Rural Delivery and The Police Chief.
