Jan 19 – Jul 19 & Mar 20 – Jun 20● Helped manage and deliver the Post Delivery Upgrade (PDU, 2019) and Intermediate Maintenance Availability (IMAV, 2020) of a RAN Destroyer, each consisting of over 2000 tasks of defect rectifications, planned maintenance, corrective maintenance and configuration changes as well as the first of class docking at Garden Island’s Captain Cook Graving Dock.● Responsible for oversight and the delivery of all structural works, pipe fabrication and sheetmetal works undertaken internally by Thales during the PDU. Notable examples include; impact damage repairs to a longitudinal stiffener, the replacement and structural reinforcement of 12 mooring bollards, and the foundation installation and fitting of a new weapons system and control console.● Managed isolations, cleaning and survey of all ship tanks during the IMAV. Additionally, supported the team during difficult COVID conditions by voluntarily overseeing wharf and crane operations and resolving scheduling conflicts to ensure all lifts were done on schedule.● Managed external contractors to deliver rigging and mechanical engineering works on schedule and budget for PDU. In addition, during the IMAV, I also negotiated rotating shifts, working from home arrangements and tensions between contractors, ship staff and the project team caused by the constantly changing COVID environment and subsequent customer decisions.
