Through my role, I have the opportunity to produce tailored programming, services and support for LGBTIQA+ youth. Informed by my lived experience and meaningful networks within the LGBTIQA+ community, I am able to advocate for the needs of diverse, LGBTIQA+ young people.My major and key achievements in this role have been curating and delivering the award-winning event, They Leads, an LGBTIQA+ Leadership conference for young people. This was a sellout event that has recently gained corporate sponsorship that will ensure its sustainment and longevity.

In 2021, in response to increased case numbers in the community, the ACT Government, collaborated with NGO Sector Partners to implement a “Managed Quarantine Program”. This was offered to community members in need to ensure that a lack of access to appropriate accommodation did not lead to increased transmission of COVID-19 or risks to personal safety or wellbeing.I was seconded as a Crisis Case Manager, where I advocated for and supported vulnerable clients to best meet their complex needs during this lockdown period.

Through this role, I was able to build strong networks with values-based community organisations to establish rapport and a mutually beneficial relationship that inevitably assisted my clients to gain long term, sustainable employment.

Through this role, I case-managed vulnerable clients from diverse backgrounds who experienced complex barriers to sustainable employment. I was able to apply a holistic approach that first assisted clients in maintaining stable accommodation, safe households and ongoing support resources. Once these needs were met, I helped them find sustainable employment options tailored to their individual circumstances.
