I collaborated for two years with a NGO defending the human rights and the environment. Their enthusiasm was so contagious that it inspired me with an interest in the questions of justice raised by climate change, biodiversity loss and pollution. This led me to draft a PhD project whose goal was threefold: • understanding the similarities between the 2500 environmental conflicts recorded in the database provided by the 'Environmental Justice, Liabilities and Trade' project; • examining two case-studies which are generating challenging transnational trials (Shell in Nigeria and Chevron-Texaco in Ecuador); • comparing the findings with moral theories of justice. The PhD thesis was completed in October 2018. I would be delighted to talk about it in more detail with anyone interested in this (absolutely fascinating, I promise) topic. Now, my purpose is to use the knowledge and skills acquired in order to help reducing the injustices experienced by the most vulnerable people(s) through the destruction of their environment.
