    I started working part-time for a publishing company owned by Maxwell Corporation in the late 1980s doing various odd jobs and then moved on to Rights, inputting contracts onto a new Rights system. After Maxwell died, the company went into administration, and I worked freelance editing a book published by Robert Hale. Then the company was acquired by by Little, Brown US and the Rights Director asked me to return. I became Rights Executive in 1995.
