Hello! I am Ani, a translator from Armenian and Russian. I am also passionate about writing, editing, proofreading, digital storytelling, and comedy. I graduated from the University of Iowa with an MFA in Literary Translation in May 2024. For my thesis, I translated the comedy "The Dentist from the East" (1868) by prominent Armenian playwright Hagop Baronian. I enjoyed working on a multilingual narrative project "Iowa Intersections" at the Center for Language and Culture Learning at the University of Iowa. I helped craft strategic vision, coordinated and conducted interviews throughout Iowa City, filmed, edited, subtitled, and organized short films into a website collection, and created a digital map of international grocery stores in Iowa City. I love working with people, listening to their stories, and representing the multilingual and multicultural diversity of our world.I also have 4 years of experience in professional proofreading, editing, and translating.
